About the Workshop
To introduce participants to the world of Butoh, Yuko invites you to listen to the memories of all life, within their cells and the voices of the invisible, transforming and manifesting through the body.
She uses various exercises to allow all types of bodies to fully relax, to feel their body and mind, empty, and refill themselves through imagination.
Body movements are created from both external and internal images. This process enables participants to create their own universe, reveal their bare spirit, and share their stories.
Butoh is a dance form for anyone seeking to explore the human inner self, its emotions, and its primal nature.
About Yuko Kobayashi
YUKO KOBAYASHI cultivates the branches of imagination through the use of her body.
Trained in Butoh dance under Akaji Maro/Cie DAIRAKUDAKAN, she participated in all the troupe's performances from 1996 to 2010 and taught dance at Mujinjuku (2006 - 2009).
Since 2010, she has lived in France, collaborating regularly with dancers, circus performers, visual artists, and set designers through choreographic consultancy, workshops, performances, and exhibitions.
She founded the company UZUNERI, where she explores a creative process inspired by nature.
Beyond Motifs is her first solo creation.
In 2022, she moved to the Monts du Lyonnais region of France with the goal of creating a space dedicated to Butoh dance.
